The GPSS was founded by a dedicated group of graduate and professional students, most of whom became the first officers, to fulfill the gap in graduate student representation at WVU. Our group seeks to advocate for all of the graduate professional students from the various departments and college at WVU at the university level through a representative body.
We are working with and on behalf of graduate and professional students to make sure the university is meeting our unique needs. This includes getting clearer communication from top down about changes in policy, being a part of decision making bodies that affect graduate education and life, advocating for the needs of grad students, and providing professional and academic development opportunities. We also are trying to improve the social interactions for grad students.
